Design Architect

This position exists to lead, facilitate and coordinate the planning, programming, architectural and engineering design services on a broad variety of projects.

General Responsibilities:

-Project analysis, planning, programming, site analysis and establishing project goals and objectives; coordinates the design activities

-Leads the conceptual, schematic and design development of the project; serves as a professional point of contact for the client during the design process

-Leads the design process; documents critical owner directives and design decisions; leads the design team in the determination of the technical aspects of the project

-Ensures the preparation of construction documents including drawings, specifications and reports; assists in the preparation of construction documents; performs code review and conducts design reviews

-Effectively communicates with client and project team

-Assists with construction coordination.

Preferred candidates will have:

-Bachelor of Architecture degree with 10 - 15 years of relevant work experience; Architectural registration is required.

- Experience in the design and construction of facilities related to Corporate/Commercial, Manufacturing and/or Higher Education facilities is highly beneficial.

-Strong computer aptitude to include a basic knowledge of computer aided modeling (Revit) and Microsoft Office applications.

-Ability to organize and prioritize personal workload and make necessary adjustments to meet strict deadlines. Must be results oriented and milestone driven.

-Strong communications skills to facilitate close work with clients, field personnel, and internal staff; ability to guide and supervise the work of others in a respectful fashion.

-Intimate knowledge of building codes, regulations and requirements. Thorough knowledge of building materials and construction methods; knowledge of procedures and sequencing of construction documents.
